It gets dangerous if you comment out some line in a root tab, because then the "watched" path is /
so a
#disabled/path IN_MODIFY chmod 777
would chmod EVERY modified file on your system!!!

in incrontab 0.5.12 on Debian (10) a hash (#) in incrontab - tables is not a comment, but a path?
It seems that https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/incron/+bug/1785573 describes the same problem.
