Window should be sized to the image when opened. This is the default for eog, and I like this functionality and think it possibly should be the default here as well.

I might be ok for this to be approximate as well. If too small, minimum window size and if close to resolution, then maximize.

Set to fit on start. Do not save across reboot. Switching to 1:1 or min can be done after open if necessary.
