There is no longer a package called ttf-computer-modern in the AUR and installing lyx doesn't help. When trying to compile a pdf with this package I get the following:
Several symbols don't get correctly rendered. This includes sums, square roots, etc...
The same fonts are also available in python-matplotlib on Arch (community repo), but they also do not work properly. The installation instructions should be corrected to reflect this.
