As I suggested at the March 2021 coordination meeting, one 'easy' way to reach many junior people/students would be to make a series of short videos e.g. taking people through doing a pull request, writing tests, etc. (things we might cover in an in-person workshop). A lot of students these days learn through videos, and this would be much more cost-effective than going to places in person and giving workshops.

I would suggest to reach out to the numpy team, as I recall the idea of these kind of videos came up there, too. So I envision many of these how-to videos could be part of a shared project.
