ATC API has this functionality to search DR based on the DN title:

GET /api/v1/atc/detectionrule/?data_needed_contains=_4688_ to get detection rules which use DN_4688_..

we need both DRs and RAs.
we could develop it for RAs as soon as we will normalize DN references in RAs itself.

it would totally make sense to switch to API when it will be fully operational.
for now it's better to focus on stan-alone development (so projects will be fully independent and self-sufficient), and then add/adapt these scripts for API.
