Compatibility with TH05?

I purchased a number of TH05 devices on Aliexpress. Using the OTA flasher, I see them, but can't pair with them. Is there a way to flash these devices OTA? Or is a UART the only way?

Also, if it's the only way, will they be OTA flashable after having open source firmware flashed to them?

Big fan of the Telink Flasher for Mi Thermostats—I've successfully flashed several using this method. I recently picked up a few Tuya TH05 units and was wondering if there have been any updates on flashing these OTA?
