LCD Refresh interval longer than 12.x seconds

This firmware and flasher is simply awesome. I am using the thermometers as sensors - but also as displays.

Currently I can show data on the display from another source in homeassistant. But it blinks from showing its own sensor readings, and over to the external sensor readings every X seconds. X being smaller than 12.x.

I want the display to ONLY show data from another sensor. Which means the display should not change between the two modes, but only show one.
