Currently, users will get a warning when there's less than 10GiB of disk space left, and when the node identifies that there is less than 1GiB of free space left on disk it will shut down with an error.

This is not a great experience for the user.

There are a few things that can be done to improve it:

  • allow to move node's directory using UI controls to some location that has more free space available
  • when node does fail, allow to recover by suggesting to move the data, maybe even with some UI controls to facilitate this

To earn the bounty, ensure your Pull Request (PR) is approved and merged by a Subspace team member. Remember to read T&C before submitting your PR.
