When the AJAX response happens, the purge UI gets reset to "pick one".

What should it go to? The user is no longer there...

Not quite. The exact steps:

  • select a user in the purge dropdown (any user)
  • wait for up to 15 seconds to get the next playerStateRequest to happen
  • the purge dropdown gets rewritten and the selection is reset, causing possible misclicks
