HDR too dark

Hey guys,
i'm using the latest v19 with an Elgato HD60X. Works perfectly with the pre generated LUT.

My only issue is, that HDR content is captured way to dark. When i push the hardware brightness to 170 it's perfect on HDR, but too bright on SDR.

Is there a way too automatically switch that when SDR/HDR changes?

If you are using pre-generated LUT table you should leave grabbers controls like brightness on default (0) and do not change them. Are you sure that custom LUT tables is loaded correctly after you uploaded it (verify its location in HyperHDR logs when HDR tone mapping is activated). Did you enable HDR tone mapping in USB grabber? There is no auto-detection of SDR/HDR currently.

Yes, the PC was connected to the same port as the the Apple TV was… on the Diva i set everything to none, so it shouldn‘t touch the signal. And as the signal out of the Diva is split by the HDMI Splitter, the picture then would be dark on the tv as well, as it‘s the same signal

I don't quite understand why you're trying to use mappable toning in HyperHDR when you're using HDFury Diva, which should do it itself?
Test how Apple TV and PC Calibration work without it. I don't have HDFury Diva and for me it is an unknown how it can influence the behavior of the whole, but it is certainly able to modify the output. And along the way you also have an HDMI splitter, which can also mess up the result.

I use it because the Diva‘s HDR vonversion didn‘t work for me, just to get rid of the DRM stuff…

i just plugged in the ATV directly to the Elgato and the picture is as dark as well… so it has to be a problem either with Elgato or the ATV itself.

do you remember the settings u used for the Elgato in the PC configuration of it? HDR tonemapping off, EDID on internal? Colorrange to extended?

I dont remember my settings and cant check it because Elgato is connected to RPi. It's very strange that Diva doesn't work properly... but does it have any effect on the TV and the grabber? Or is the TV OK but the grabber is incorrect? The video file format is one thing, but have you checked what format the TV recognizes while playing it?

The TV always shows a correct image, only the grabber is to dark… the problem with my Diva was, that the image conversion was too dark as well. So i wrote their support on Discord and they told me „that‘s“ normal.

Slowly i guess maybe the Apple TV is the problem…
