I recently had an issue in a design where different parts of a system had different regulators with separate overcurrent protection (latch-up prevention on a cubesat). IO pins crossing these power domains need to prevent backfeeding of power through the protection diodes of the chip in case one of the power domains get turned off.
It might be worth adding this to the checklist?
