Collecting any specific feedback on this topic. It's hard to be actionable on one item, but maybe if we collect this type of comment over time.

it would be awesome if there was one page (that could be trusted and thus shared by everyone, perhaps run as part of a consortium between all the different groups), which only served to list legitimate websites and code sources, and who controls them. (and also to point out scam sites, non-legitimate sites)

what I'm doing right now is pretty unreliable. I look for the largest projects on github/gitlab by # of forks

but also I've decided certain sites are authoritative based on who owns them (assuming I can verify that)

so for example, I got here by going from https://www.bitcoin.com/full-nodes/ --> https://gitlab.com/bitcoin-cash-node/bitcoin-cash-node#development-process (edited)

if that page on bitcoin.com didn't exist, I would never have known bitcoincashnode.org was legit and bitcoincashnodes.org was a scam site

Same person:

tbh if I hit that site randomly, I'd immediately think it was a clone of bitcoincash.org, because of the style. the fancier a site is, the more I think it is trying to sell me something, hehe. I like documentation.cash, right to the point.

I don't see how the styles are similar. Literally every single line of CSS and color is different.

It's not my call but I would prefer to keep this open. There are so many scams. How can we increase confidence in this site? I really don't know the answer, but I think it is an open, unsolved issue.
