I am trying to install libwebkitgtk-4.0-37 but it can't locate the package. Using Ubuntu 18.04. Any hints?

used: sudo apt-get install -y libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 and it seemed to work.
Still cannot install :
pip install --pre toga-demo

"pip install" shouldn't be hitting a URL on packagecloud.io - I've never heard of that website, and PyPI files are served from files.pythonhosted.org. My guess is that you've got some local proxy or Ubuntu configuration issue at play. Ubuntu is famous for ... "fixing"... the default Python install, but this particular variation is a new one for me.

Also - is there any particular reason you've posted this as a reply to the welcome message, rather than starting a new discussion thread?

Hello! Python is my preferred programming language, so when I wanted to make a GUI app a few years ago, I looked for what cross-platform options were available in it. Qt/Pyside is mature, full of features, and can mimic a native OS appearance, but seeing as how it's a wrapper over C++ libraries, I found it unintuitive and labyrinthine. Kivy, on the other hand, is really quite eloquent, but with almost no support for native OS integration.

Toga looks like it's fast becoming exactly what I was looking for in the first place, and the fact that it actually uses native components rather than reinventing them in its own custom engine is extra exciting. I'm excited to see where it goes, and I hope I can help! : )
