It's taken me a while to pin down the plugin at fault here, but now I have. Rather than try to explain, I made a quick GIF of the behavior in question: https://gfycat.com/gifs/detail/UnsteadyParchedHoatzin

The menu I'm trying to access is from ZotFile, so I've thought this was a ZotFile bug. But when I disable Google Scholar Citations, this glitchy behavior goes away. I'm not sure if this is going to be easy to debug on your part because it looks like the menu items that appear/reappear are not this plugin's.

I have exactly the same issue. I also have ZotFile installed and disabling zotero-scholar-citations fixes the issue.
