I would recommend to choose a Java Style Guide obligatory for all devs. Google wrote a good guide.
The Oracle guide is outdated by far and should not be used anymore.
For inspiration and real life examples we could study for example the source code of Google Guava.
I think we can not go wrong with the Google style guide.
