I'm also having some trouble following its instructions. Maybe the Slack app setup page has changed? There's nothing that looks like a token at the top of the page once I select the scope parameters... is it the long random string in the URI between "/oauth/" and "?team=1"?

Turns out I needed to connect the app to see the OAuth Access Token, which ends up on the "Install App" tab. I still can't get the whole thing working, though....
