Does this work on Motorola Edge 2022?

Hi, I have a new Motorola Edge 2022 (North America retail) which apparently has a Dimensity 1050 chip. Will this tool work on that phone?

I can't figure out how to get the phone into BROM mode. The usual powering off then plugging in while holding down the volume buttons does not work. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it possible that this phone can't do BROM mode? (I also have an older Blu F91 5G on which this tool works fine.)

Apparently Motorola now makes phone owners wait some number of days before they can unlock their bootloader (developer tools option for "OEM unlocking" greyed out) so my bootloader is currently locked. Can this tool still back up my partitions even with a locked bootloader? Could the locked bootloader be the reason I can't get into BROM mode? Can this tool be used to unlock the bootloader without the wait?
