I would be nice to have a small preview of the active chat on home view, like many SailfishOS apps.

Here an example of a twitter app.

Maybe could be nice also to add two buttons, one for opening the active chat, another for opening the chat list.

Someone told me that the unread messages view that is already implemented is very helpful...
So maybe you can merge this two method applying opacity to the preview when there are unread messages and removing that opacity when there are no unread messages.

This is another example, but without chat preview in backgound
