Support for daisy books #122
Comments
Hello @Cambridgeport90 Support for Daisy is a high priority work for me. Unfortunately, I don't have access to any Daisy documents to test with, and I don't have access to Bookshare. I'm willing to help anyone who wants to work on this. Therefore, this issue will remain open as a challenge for the community, and I hope that some one will step out and accept the challenge. Best |
If I knew Python, then, I would… I don’t, unfortunately… Glad to know that it’s one for the community… because is someone hasn’t stepped out in a few months, maybe by then the landscape will change just a little.

Hello @Cambridgeport90<https://github.com/Cambridgeport90>
I think if you give Bookshare access to @mush42<https://github.com/mush42> then it would be easy to test books in daisy format and integrate the ability to read books in daisy, wouldn't it?
As @mush42<https://github.com/mush42> stated, he currently does not have access to Bookshare.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
no
Describe the solution you'd like
Would be amazing if Bookworm could open and read Daisy formatted books from places like Bookshare.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I can still view these with my old QRead license, but Bookworm is superior to the former in every way.
Additional context
Some stuff on Bookshare like newspapers, are only accessible via the Daisy format and are not available in any others. I'm trying to have a "one book reader to rule them all" sort of thing going on here.
