The Robotic Journal of Modern Poetry will be a monthly, online-only journal of modern poetry focusing on new, unpublished authors. Nothing unusual so far, right? What if we told you that all publishing decisions will be made by automated, machine learning algorithms rather than human readers? What makes a "good" poem? Can popular art be reduced to a series of patterns? What happens when you eliminate all source of human bias from a competitive publication? Stay tuned to find out!

Each month, user submissions will be selected for inclusion in the online journal based on how well they fit the aesthetic profile of the publication. This, in turn, will be based upon factors such as patterns in competitive publications and user preferences. No humans will be involved in selecting the published submissions. By automating the selection process, we ensure that only the "best" work is shared with the publc, without fear of bias or human error, while at the same time testing the definition of art criticism.

We need your help to get this project off the ground. All Bitstarter donations will go directly towards develping, hosting, and administering the journal. We are also excited to offer a selection of gifts as a way to say thanks to all of our early supporters. Please see the FAQs for more information.

We are serious - and that's not a question. Computers are already used to recommend movies, guide us through traffic, and protect us from spam.
