Also thought so. It did connect after a while though

So, we found that the WiFi card gets assigned a random mac address every boot and this might be causing issues with auto connect on boot. One thing to try out would be to set a static MAC address with the following command to see if auto connect works :

echo 'options 8723cs rtw_initmac=00:81:c1:55:17:0a' > /etc/modprobe.d/8723cs.conf
