Product Update Not Working

If we follow the given code, we are not able to update the details of a product. We get 'Network Error' if we just update the values. However, if we change the product image, we can update the product's other values but then somehow the image is lost and cannot be added back by any means. The only option left in that case is to delete the product and start over again.
