So I think I disabled Secure VM with this in Terminal & it's persistent between restarts: And I am experimenting with file size, high water & low water settings as follows to allocate a 1.5 GB swap file as needed & don't give it back so readily ...... with this that does NOT persist between restarts: |

It seems with older hardware and with about 4GB's of ram the OS X dynamic_pager defaults to secure writes & reads to the swap files on disk for portable machines. With Chromium-Legacy the swap is used pretty often & can easily build to 4GB of swap files. I've noticed while streaming audio over time the dynamic_pager will pause all system functions while performing swap maintenance. As described in this MAN page I'm not sure SECURE VM is warranted on these machines...... Anyone have thoughts or previous experience with this dynamic_pager....
