The documentation for Socket.IO clearly states that the Client method emit accepts one or more arguments, unlimited. The type definitions for the release version of ng-socket-io restricts us to 3 arguments (event name, some data point or object, callback function) artificially and needless restricting the functionality of the underlying dependencies.
