Diagnose icon not appearing when it should. This is not easily reproducible, it may be a race condition. Suspect this is the cause of chengsun/moz-spdy-indicator#27

I'm currently having this issue, e.g. I host site example.com, before cert renewal, I visit it on my laptop with the extension. Then I renew the cert. After the renewal, the icon is not show anymore. No config has been changed (checked all of it). Then, on a different device, I check the site with the plugin, and the icon shows.
Thanks for the report - I'm pretty sure that's a separate issue but it definitely sounds believable, I bet there is something that is getting cached internally in the extension causing that. If you quit the affected browser entirely and re-launch it, does the issue go away?
Could very well be a separate issue :)
Weird thing is, I'm seeing it on a different PC aswell now. Quitting the browser and relaunching it doesn't fix it... I can eventually share the affected websites in a email or something :)
