The instructions indicate that I can install mainframer from Brew (https://github.com/buildfoundation/mainframer/blob/3.x/docs/getting-started/local-machine.md#macos).

However, the tap https://github.com/buildfoundation/homebrew-tap looks like it's a private repo?

 brew tap buildfoundation/homebrew-tap
==> Tapping buildfoundation/tap
Cloning into '/usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Taps/buildfoundation/homebrew-tap'...
...
fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://github.com/buildfoundation/homebrew-tap/'
Error: Failure while executing; `git clone https://github.com/buildfoundation/homebrew-tap /usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Taps/buildfoundation/homebrew-tap --depth=1` exited with 128.

Please check "State of the Project" in the readme:

State of the Project

  • 2.x — the stable version, recommended for production use.
  • 3.x — the future version, in active development at this point.
    • Mainframer is going to be a system-wide tool.
    • Mainframer is rewritten in Rust.
    • Mainframer will speed up most of existing workflows by syncing during remote command execution.

Particularly

3.x — the future version, in active development at this point.

🙃

Docs are a bit ahead of development, it's @ming13's way of pushing me to actually implement what we have in docs I guess lol

So if I want to use mainframe would I have to clone the repo and manually set it up ?

Thanks @AlexeyKorshun I'll keep that in mind. I might stick with the 3.x version, been learning rust and this could be a cool project to get hands on with.
Thanks !
