User story

As a product owner, I want to understand the level of effort for several areas of potential improvement for the product reports site.

Summary

Evaluate the LOE for several areas of potential improvement for the reports site from a development perspective. These would focus on the following epics:

  • Reduce the time it takes to generate reports
    • It currently is labor intensive to produce the monthly reports. We should evaluate ways of reducing the total time and work time required
  • Automate reports site generation
    • Evaluate LOE to fully generate reports sites, at least in a pre-production mode, using github actions
  • Ability to run reports site more frequently
    • LOE to run reports more frequently than once a month
  • Replace current graphs with accessible versions
    • The current graphs are not accessible, we should estimate replacing them to make the output of the graphs more accessible

Additionally, we want to evaluate the following technical tasks

  • More closely align reports site generation with analytics site
    • Make it easier to allocate same people on both
    • Make improvements to automatiion availablefor both
  • Move some of the reports queries to the warehouse. See Spike: Move Select Reports Queries into Warehouse #129
    • Make reports much faster to run
    • Reuse valuable views in other projects
