Enhancement Proposal

It seems we don't have the config option to set SMTP settings which is necessary to get e-mail notifications. It would be useful to have this option.

What is the use case for this? Do you need SMTP settings for alerting purposes? If so, are you routing the alerts in alertmanager or grafana?

Hi,

We (the Snapd project team) are working on setting up alerts in our COS instance, which requires configuring SMTP in Grafana.

At Snapd, we analyze our test logs and create detailed visualizations in Grafana. These graphics help us monitor the quality status of our project and plan the next steps in our testing process. Currently, we need to receive alerts when certain metrics, which we calculate, show red values.
