About a year ago, @thyhmdo and I took the latest pass at the Carbon info session deck for a presentation to designers on the Client Engineering team. Since then the deck has not been touched for a Carbon core audience.
The solution
The deck needs to be evaluated and refreshed again. It's somewhat usable in it's current form, but it could be A LOT better. There are several immediate problems:
It's length doesn't allow for questions at the end, it usually takes the full hour
Olivia worked on a version of this deck for AEM where she cut down several sections
Can the upfront be cut where we explain the ecosystem? (look at Olivia's upfront)
How much time do we need to spend on the elements? Where can we consolidate?
There are older slides that now need updates (before updating make sure you NEED the slide)
Ecosystem slides need updating (10, 14)
Website slides often need updates (17, 18, 19, 20, 58, 87)
Slide 24 (grid modes now called gutter modes)
We now have many more product examples; see if some of these example slides could be refreshed
Slides 26–28, 31, 76
Slide 25, 39, 41, 78 and 80 are dotcom examples (41 is also very old)*
We don't emphasize hero brands anymore (slides 61-65)
AI work would be more interesting to show here somehow
Check if token pages need to be changed out
Slides 52 & 59
Kill slide 90, v11 is old news
What about other new intiatives to highlight aside from AI like PLG work, new Contribution docs, acquisition playbook?
*It's OK to show some dotcom examples...but we should definitely be looking for really good product to show
