Thanks @ha0ye! This is a great resource. Do we have a collection of "learner profiles" or personas for learners who attend instructor training? |
I think that The Carpentries Handbook should have a short version of pathways to contribute. We should avoid duplicate content in different repositories because it makes hard to keep all pages updated. We are going to revamp the navigation bar, see carpentries/lesson-infrastructure#18 (comment), so this is a good time to add a link to something. Please add suggestions to carpentries/lesson-infrastructure#18. Thanks. |
We've talked about how lots of people want to get involved in the Carpentries but they don't always know where to look. The Carpentry Handbook and the has lots of useful information, but not everyone knows to look there. The Carpentries Join Us Page has lots of information, but its a long (perhaps overwhelming) list of things and again, maybe not everyone knows to look there.
I propose that we add a new tab or page in the styles repo that provides a brief overview of pathways to contribution or ways to get involved and various links. This would be a canonical source for how to get involved that would then be replicated on every workshop or lesson page across the Carpentries.
Do people think this is a good idea?
It was discussed at CarpentryCon with @tracykteal @ha0ye and @marwahaha at CarpentryConnect Davis.
