Sometimes it seems like after a certain amount of time, or possibly after suspend, the surface input on the active surface breaks. To make it work again, the overview needs to be opened and the active window needs to be re-focused.

This seems very difficult to reproduce, it might be worth adding some debug logs that could help with troubleshooting.
