Run out of faucet gas on Testnet #1256
-
Hello, I deployed 2 contracts in Testnet, which costed me 0.00693215 cBTC (approx $441) and 0.00207186 cBTC (approx $110), so I run out of daily faucet quota. I am waiting for some days to have enough quota to deploy my contracts. I do not have the gas numbers, because contracts in Devnet are gone, but I was able to deploy the same contracts on Devnet with no major issues. So, some questions:
Thanks |

Finally able to deploy all the contracts after accumulating gas from some accounts. For the fees breakdown, there is an open ticket here |

yes, we decided to set minimum base fee to 0.01 gwei like other rollups. this can be changed in the future once we understand the usage we get and how gas fees will work out for Bitcoin rollups. we actually made improvements on how we charge L1 fees, making it cheaper for everybody, though, it's probably outweighed by the change in base fee.
@otaliptus do we have docs for this? if not, we should create some.
Two of our biggest challenges stem from the fact that we need to use the base layer for settlement and DA. For settlement we need to create a ZK proof of Citrea's latest state; and for data availability we want to put state diffs on the base layer and this is normally big, we work on it to make it smaller. |

If you need testnet cBTC in the future (for development purposes) pls contact us on our Discord. We help teams or devs that need more cBTC than the faucet gives. |

No, we don't have it in the docs at the moment. I can put a separate doc on how the gas fee calculations are done and what's different, good point 🫡. Also thanks for the heads up @pellyadolfo. As @eyusufatik said, whenever you need some funds/help come visit our Discord and open a ticket, I'll be glad to assist you there 1-on-1. |
