I'm trying to keep to stuff that is represented on the OG spritesheets. 0.9.9.9 will already add mud and blood to fluid types, both with fairly unique effects (slow and player-only plasma damage). Doom games seem to completely ignore radioactiveness anyway - but I do feature it prominently in AliensRL :P.
I'm proposing radiation, similar to acid and lava..
It would be yellow (uranium oxide is yellow) with a corresponding barrel of "nuclear waste". The nuke should leave behind a lot of it randomly.
This will add flavor that this place is dangerous.
