The chart draws incorrectly if you end up with a negative value for unknown. This can happen if your power meter reads incorrectly, such as when you use a single sensor for a two-wire circuit with a multiplier, or if the various sensors are on different devices and are merely out of sync.
In the screenshot below the bulk should be blue (heat pump), not orange (unknown).
