Versions:

  • Version of Chef-Provisioning: 2.6.0
  • Version of Chef-Provisioning-vSphere: 2.0.10

Platform Details

  • Version of vSphere/vCenter: 6.0.0
  • Version of ESXi: 6.0.0

Scenario:

Apologies if this is the wrong way to ask but the specific scenario is that I'm trying to find a nice way to provision a VM on the datastore that has the most space free at that time. But a way to access the rbvmomi in the recipe to then find out this and other info about the server would be great as well.

Loving this project btw. It's going to make a huge impact on our automation stack!

Steps to Reproduce:

Have to manually specify the datastore each time or it defaults to the same DS as the template.

Expected Result:

n/a

Actual Result:

n/a
