Settings not saving after closing and reopening app

I always have to reset the "enable dark theme" setting as well as the "turn off message preview" setting every time I restart the app (including rebooting the computer). I am assuming the rest of the settings just go back to default on a restart. Any way to get this addressed? Thank you so much!!
