Clojure-ts-clojurescript-mode missing all highlight

I start to trying to use clojure-ts-mode instead of clojure-mode (and clojurescript-mode also).

It seems that clojure-ts-mode work as expected, and I can see the speed improvement compare to clojure-mode.

however when I open a .cljs file, all syntax highlight gone.

Expected behavior

highlight should work as expect

Actual behavior

highlight didn't show. like screenshot below.

Steps to reproduce the problem

just open .cljs file and activate clojure-ts-clojurescript-mode

Environment & Version information

clojure-ts-mode version

0.6.0-snapshot

tree-sitter-clojure grammar version

unstable-20250526

reinstall and still happened.

Emacs version

30.1

Operating system

POP_OS! 22.04

Hello @idhowardgj94. Thanks for reporting it. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the bug and I use this package with ClojureScript all the time without any issues. I have a couple of ideas though:

• could you check your *Messages* buffer? Are there any errors when you open a cljs file?
• could you try to set clojure-ts-clojurescript-use-js-parser to nil and check if problem still exists?

2. try to set clojure-ts-clojurescript-use-js-paser but no luck

additional context:

1. I use lsp / lsp defer
2. I use cider, which seems not work well with clojure-ts

could I ask your emacs version, and do you use cider or lsp?

oh, after some debug, I find out that is a typo when i setting lsp-deferred
the error message showing in mini buffer, didn't know why didn't show in Message buffer.

if I didn't write :init part in use-package, my emacs default associate .clj .cljs and .cljc to clojure-mode

I suspect its because clojure-mode erquired by cider-mode cause clojure-mode setup by default. do you have any idea?

The correct way to use clojure-ts-mode by default would be to either manually configure major-mode-remap-alist:

(add-to-list 'major-mode-remap-alist '(clojure-mode . clojure-ts-mode))
(add-to-list 'major-mode-remap-alist '(clojurescript-mode . clojure-ts-clojurescript-mode))
(add-to-list 'major-mode-remap-alist '(clojurec-mode . clojure-ts-clojurec-mode))

or to make clojure-ts-mode doing it for you:

(setopt clojure-ts-auto-remap t)
