How do you Version things?
We have chosen the following scheme for our version changes:
- Major: a change is required in the environment
- Minor: features have been added
- Patch: bugfix
While our methods may be slightly unorthodox, as someone who is actually running the application on their own servers. You will be able to assume that you won't have to change any technology(example: mongo to CouchDB, Mongo DB Native to Mongoose) unless a major version has gone up. If you are just using the public site, no worries you will remain unaffected.
