What if we had a Today I learned blog as a brigade ?

Spike results:

This spike explores two possible blog site starters Hugo and Gatsby found on https://www.netlifycms.org/docs/start-with-a-template/.

  • Hugo is written in Go, but requires little knowledge of the language to setup and use. Hugo is rated higher and is used by more people. It is also considered more reliable/stable with fewer bugs.

  • Gatsby was written using React. It has greater community involvement, more plugins, but also has more bugs. One needs real knowledge of React to get things setup and maintained.

Given our use case -a simple, clean blog- I recommend using Hugo with Netlify CMS.

Next step I am taking: experimenting with Hugo/Gatsby to confirm the above.
