Those were subsets of the entire world shapes from Natural Earth, and it seems they are in a very low resolution. It’s possible NE has more precise files, but at this moment their website is broken, so filing this for the future.

Note that some countries have been renamed from NE’s original set:

South Korea (Republic of Korea)
North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea)
Russia (Russian Federation)
