iOS Safari: can not close the Menu

Where:

• iOS Safari
• I open the menu

What I see:

• Tapping on x Close Menu does nothing
• Tapping outside the menu does nothing

What I expect:

• The menu should close

Note:

• There is different behavior on Chrome for macOS:
  • Clicking x Close Menu with the mouse closes the menu
  • Clicking anywhere on the screen while the menu is open also closes the menu
  • I guess the x Close Menu has no function at all, but it works on macOS because clicking anywhere on the screen closes the menu, which doesn't happen on iOS Safari.
