If you invoke osc.readPacket directly without specifying an options argument, it will throw an error when trying to read the metadata option.

Here's an example:

var parsed = osc.readPacket(rawMessage);
console.log(parsed);

An error is thrown here, because readPacket does not supply a sufficient default structure for options
