In order to improve user experience, we should have a tab which is shown by default when the user opens DB connection.
This new tab should include the functionality of existing "back-ends" tab + display useful information about the database.
The layout and exact list of things to be displayed is yet to be defined

the backends tab usability was significantly improved and it can be kept. closing the issue
