How strange. Is there some way I can reproduce this?

When I run the tests locally in the repo, they build, run, and pass. This is also the case when I put the package through the verify-package script. I don't understand what circumstances on the Stackage build server would lead to the situation listed here. Is it relying on faulty custom cabal file parsing?

Can confirm that this happens consistently on the stackage build server. I'll try a dumb workaround at the package level.

My theory that it was bad parsing of cabal flags was wrong. I removed the flag from the cabal file but still the same issue persists.

I at least find that this is coming from Stack code (set here, results in failure here), but why it would fail to find the executable is still a mystery.

I have a feeling this is a common problem, but don't have a specific solution. Probably some kind of stackage edge-case.
Wonder if it works later?

I don't think so - we have hit this kind of problem before in the past too I believe.
