Internal link notaiton ? i.e. [[<<slug>>]]

Is there a way to have different kind of links for content that is part of the same contentlayer instance?

i.e. in Markdown, I would like to link internally using notation like [[<<slug>>]]

That doesn't seem to work? Is it supported?

Secondarily, I would like to have internal link previews on hover. i.e. a tooltip that would provide a summary of the content behind an internal link

Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated
