Is this project still maintained ?

Hello everyone,

I am thinking of using Contiv for a personal project but the lack of activity scares me.
The last commits date to more than a year. this makes me wonder if the contiv-vpp is still maintained. what are the possible directions ?

i don't see integration efforts for things like Multus and NSM.

Can the developers kindly give us some insights? would the community continue to support this projects CNF-infra, ligato and contiv?

Unfortunately I have to say that this project is no longer maintained. We had to leave it at a state when it was working quite well. However the latest version of K8s that it was tested against was something like 1.17. Also the VPP that is being used inside as data-plane is from 2019.
Ligato project is still being actively maintained and it is for example used as one of the building blocks of NSM.
If you need to use VPP as data-plane between K8s workloads for you project then I suggest you to either:

• checkout Calico VPP: https://github.com/projectcalico/vpp-dataplane
• use NSM
• or to revive Contiv-VPP :)

Still I would hope that you might find at least some inspiration from this project. Before it was discontinued we already had support for Service Function Chaining, even with Segment Routing as one of the transport options.
