  1. Where is it (in base containers, suggested by your, ...)? I found such file in only one github repo

  2. How is it important for running labs? Maybe it can be excluded at all?

This extension is still being requested in the file /home/jovyan/.jupyter/jupyter_notebook_config.py. (This file seems to be overwritten by Coursera even when it's a completely custom lab image.) It does not appear to load successfully on Coursera either, although it doesn't stop the notebook from starting up.

I agree it should probably be removed.
