Milestone: https://github.com/cowprotocol/pm/milestone/6

Priority Tracks: Secure Scalability, Growth, Generating Revenue (Sustainability & Longevity)

Summary

CoW Protocol solvers should all be running their own driver for decentralisation, reliability and simplification reasons.

Justification

This will reduce CoW Protocol's core infrastructure to just the orderbook and autopilot and thus make it easy to deploy CoW Protocol on new networks assuming support from at least a minimum amount of solvers.

Team Dependencies

  • Solver team to create right incentives and work with solvers towards progressive decentralisation and build tooling to monitor adherence to the rules of the competition
  • Backend team to build supporting infrastructure, provide open source reference implementation of the driver
