The GX1400 is a fixed mount maritime VHF radio made by Yaesu / Standard Horizon. It shares a common hardware platform with the handheld radios HX870 and HX890.
One of the differences between these models is that the HX870/HX890 have a USB port, whereas the GX1400 does not. There is no GX1400 programming software available from Standard Horizon – unlike the HX870/HX890, for which there is YCE15/YCE20.
I have a branch that extends hxtool with the ability to talk to the GX1400. It requires connecting the radio’s NMEA accessory cable to the computer through a classic RS-232 style serial link.

Would you be interested in merging this capability into hxtool?
