At the time of writing, the image offered in DockerHub supports only amd64; as of Q2 2022, it is estimated Arm holds 9.5% consumer and 7.1% server CPU market share 1, which indicates the usefulness of adding arm64v8 support.

The issue is that GitHub Actions (which is how we build, test and publish the containers) only has x86 workers. To build arm64 (which everyone wants, including me) we need a self-hosted arm64 GitHub Actions server.

Would buildx+qemu actions be an acceptable addition to enable cross-architecture images? See this. I apologize if the link becomes stale.

Arm64 GitHub-hosted Actions runners as well as the runner images are available by now: https://github.blog/news-insights/product-news/arm64-on-github-actions-powering-faster-more-efficient-build-systems/
